The hostel is situated on the southern side of Nova Gorica, on the Slovene-Italian border, in a peaceful, scarcely populated area.
We are situated 85 m above the sea level, only 18 km as the crow flies from the Adriatic Sea (Duino, Sistiana, Monfalcone).
Hostel Nova Gorica is a fifteen-minute walk from the Nova Gorica railway station and ten minutes from the bus station and the centre of the town.
We reach the Rožna Dolina border crossing in 5 minutes by car, the international border crossing Vrtojba in ten. The nearest slip road to the international motorway towards Italy and to the motorway to Ljubljana is a ten-minutes drive away.
The nearest international passenger airport is in Italy in Ronchi dei Legionari, at 38 km of distance. The main international passenger airport in Slovenia is Brnik near Ljubljana. Nova Gorica is 100 km away from the capital of Slovenia – Ljubljana.
Just a few minutes away on foot the Panovec wood spreads out.
Hostel Nova Gorica is an excellent starting point for trips to the surrounding area.
Accommodation
The hostel is divided in two units – the A and the B, which together accomodate 350 people.
Unit A has 49 triple rooms, 35 double rooms and 5 single-bed apartments, with the total of 222 beds. All the rooms except for the apartments have shared facilities (toilets, showers and washrooms). There are also three larger study rooms with 25 seats and 3 smaller ones with 12 seats each, a TV room for 20 people, a spacious reception hall, a larger hall for about 110 people and a dining room for 60 people.
Unit B has 12 triple rooms, 48 double-bed apartments with shower as well as 4 single-bed apartments, 136 beds altogether. This unit also has a smaller study room with 16 seats, a spacious dining room for 60 people, three TV rooms and an elevator.
The two units are connected by internal corridors and an external roofed passage.
Next to the building there is a large car park for 60 cars with additional space for 60 more cars; there is also enough room for several buses. The car parks are well lit at night.
The HNG complex also includes an asphalt combined field for seven-a-side football or handball, with lines for volleyball and 2 basketball courts, a beach-volley ground, a long-jump lane, 2 alsphalt tennis courts and a bowling alley. All the sports facilities have night lighting.
